Step One – Before you make an application

It is essential to read our Appointment Particulars which will explain what we are looking for in a candidate and the criteria needed to be shortlisted. They will also provide you with information on the range of benefits we offer as an employer.

Step Two – Completing an application form

To apply for a position at WMCA (or Transport for West Midlands), our preferred option is for you to register with our quick and easy Online Recruitment System. Please ensure that you submit your application form by the closing date specified.

Alternatively you can also request an application form to be emailed or posted to you by contacting us at:  jobs@wmca.org.uk or calling 0121 214 7154. Completed application forms should be returned to us by the closing date either by emailing the form to jobs@wmca.org.uk or posting to:

If you have a disability and are unable to complete an application form using any of the above methods, please contact 0121 214 7154 or email jobs@wmca.org.uk who will advise on the most appropriate way to submit your details.

Applying through our Online Recruitment System:

To apply online, click the 'Apply for' button next to the vacancy. This will take you to the login page where you can: 

  • Register with our secure Online Recruitment System if you are a new user, or
  • Login to your existing account.

Once registered, you will be able to login and complete an application, or submit a new application if you have already registered.

The benefits of using our Online Recruitment System:

  • By completing 'My Profile' your personal details will remain securely stored and you will not need to re-enter the information if making multiple or future applications.
  • You will also not need to re-enter information by completing 'My CV'. This section will also allow us to identify any particular vacancies that may be of interest to you.
  • Your 'Dashboard' allows you to see all of your information in one place.
  • 'My Applications' shows previous/in progress applications and will allow you to print your form.
  • You will receive email notifications of new vacancies as and when they are published on our website.
