Advisory Groups and West Midlands Combined Authority

How we engage with the Culture & Heritage sector

Over recent years West Midlands Combined Authority's primary role around culture has been as an enabler and influencer to ensure our arts & cultural sector can thrive through launching new funding streams and working in closer partnership with government and arms-length bodies, such as Arts Council England.

To underpin our decision-making, WMCA has two advisory groups that ensure we are fully informed of the sector, its needs, opportunities and how these are changing.

Our Cultural Leadership Board has board members representing different parts of the cultural sector across the WMCA geography.

Our Cultural Officer’s Group is made up of senior cultural officers from our constituent and non-constituent local authorities, and until recently also included Local Enterprise partnerships, which have now been abolished.
