Reviving Blue/Green Corridor in the Historic Parkland

Castle Bromwich Hall Gardens is a well-known formal garden in Solihull. They also manage 30 acres of mixed habitat historic parkland.

The land, (including the formal gardens) is in the top 10% of protected landscapes in the country -  being an Historic England Grade2* listed Park and Garden. It is also part of the biggest conservation area in Solihull.

The project is to restore 10 acres of detreating wetland and half an acre of at-risk acid grassland. The land is open to the public but local engagement with the area is low.

The aim of the project is to restore wetlands on the chosen area and reinstate a series of dried-up ponds, also to restore an area of acid grassland that is receding due to invading species.
