Published: Monday 16 Nov 2015
The nation's largest skills and careers show comes to Birmingham 19-21 November.
The Skills Show, a free three day event, takes place at the NEC from 19-21 November, and will have hundreds of different industries, skills and careers to explore.
It is an opportunity for young people to meet professionals from a variety of industries including construction, IT and business management, engineering and the creative arts.
Some of the UK's top employers such as Jaguar Landrover, Virgin Media, IBM and Crossrail will be on hand to offer advice and discuss opportunities.
Professional careers advice will be available from the National Careers Service, and visitors can learn about how to get into vocational careers, from university to apprenticeships.
There will even be the chance for visitors to ‘Have a Go' at a huge range of job-related skills, including operating robots on the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) stand.
Councillor Bob Sleigh, Chair of the WMCA Shadow Board, said:
The Skills Show is a fantastic opportunity for young people to meet prospective employers and learn more about the training and careers open to them.
Developing skills is incredibly important for our region, and we want to deliver a skills package across the whole of the West Midlands, getting skilled people into the right jobs.
I hope this event will inspire and motivate young people to explore a variety of careers
Bob Sleigh, Councillor
