West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) delegates to last week's Labour Party Conference hailed the event as a great opportunity to share the Midlands Engine agenda on a national and international platform.
Cllr Pete Lowe, WMCA vice-chair, who led the delegation, said they had been able to spread the word about the Midlands Engine, Midlands Connect and the new combined authority at meetings and networking events throughout the conference.
He said: Now we are preparing for the Conservative Party Conference, starting this weekend in Birmingham.
This is another fantastic opportunity to show the current government and its ministers that we are at the heart of the country, a key player in rebalancing the UK economy and very much open for business.
