Exploring Experiences of Young People Aged 16-24

Survey Information and FAQs

Young people survey information

Your views on the support that can help you reach your goals

We’re asking 16–24-year-olds who are not in education, employment or training to tell us what types of support would be most useful in helping you move forward.

Your feedback will help shape the services and opportunities available to young people across the West Midlands.

Survey Information and FAQs

This survey is part of a research project exploring the experiences of young people aged 16–24 who are not in education, employment or training (often called NEET).

We want to better understand the challenges young people may face and the kinds of support that would be most helpful in helping them reach their goals.

The findings will help shape future support and opportunities for young people across Walsall and the wider West Midlands.

The survey has been organised by the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA), Walsall Council and Ryecroft Community Hub.

The research is funded by the WMCA.

Taking part involves completing a short online survey. The survey asks participants to rank different types of support based on how useful they feel they would be.

The survey should only take a few minutes to complete and there are no right or wrong answers. We are interested in hearing about your views and experiences.

No. Taking part in the survey is completely voluntary.

Choosing not to take part will not affect any support or services you currently receive.

Participants can choose to enter a prize draw to win a voucher.

To enter the prize draw, you will need to provide an email address. This will only be used for administering the prize draw.

Responses will be treated confidentially and the survey does not ask for your name.

Where possible, responses will be anonymised so they cannot reasonably be linked back to you. If any identifying information is included accidentally, it will be removed during data processing.

There may be rare situations where concerns around someone’s safety or wellbeing need to be reported to the appropriate services.

The information collected through the survey will be used for research purposes and to help improve future support for young people.

The West Midlands Combined Authority is the data controller for this research and will manage information in line with data protection legislation.

For more information, please read the WMCA Privacy Policy.

The findings from the survey may be included in future reports exploring barriers faced by young people entering education, employment or training.

Any published findings will not identify individual participants.
