Adult Learning Educator

Lindrae's work on BMet’s Adult Welding Programme is transforming lives as well as careers. She supports adults from a wide range of backgrounds, many of whom arrive with low confidence, long gaps in education, or little to no technical experience.

Lindrae helps people discover what they are truly capable of.

Through patient, hands-on teaching and deeply personalised support, Lindrae breaks down barriers and makes complex welding skills feel achievable. In her classroom, learners are not defined by their starting point, but by their potential. Confidence grows week by week, as practical skills develop and self-belief takes root.

The impact is powerful and visible. Learners who once doubted their abilities are now progressing into employment, apprenticeships and further engineering training. Stepping into a sector where their skills are urgently needed.

Lindrae's guidance goes far beyond technical instruction. She creates an environment where adults feel supported, valued, and capable of change. In doing so, she is not only helping to address critical skills shortages in the region’s engineering workforce, but also giving people renewed pride, independence, and a future they can believe in.

Abdelhamid Sahih, Director of Curriculum for Engineering Technology at Birmingham Metropolitan College, said: “Lindrae has gone beyond delivering technical training by creating a supportive learning environment where adults from diverse and often challenging backgrounds can rebuild confidence, develop industry-relevant skills, and access meaningful employment.

“Many learners joined the programme after long periods out of education or employment, yet through personalised support, practical teaching, and strong industry alignment, they were able to gain recognised welding qualifications and progress into employment or further engineering training.”
