Gatis Community Space
The Community Environment Network aims to connect community groups working on environment action, boost their efforts, and also inspire and support new groups.
Acts of Random Caring who operate Gatis Community Space in Wolverhampton use arts, nature, play and food as tools to promote awareness of nature, permaculture and the environment.
During March they hosted wild workshops for local residents and separate sessions for families which included improving habitats for wildlife, planting pollinator friendly plants, installing bird and bat boxes as well as sessions to connect people with nature.
Each session focused on different elements, including:
- Nature connection activities
- Nature art, mindfulness, treasure hunts etc,
- Active plant mapping and identification, data recording
- Weather, flowering plants and habitat improvement
- Planting, bug houses, seed bombs, litter removal.
