Meriden Adventure Playground Association
The Community Environment Network aims to connect community groups working on environment action, boost their efforts, and also inspire and support new groups.
Meriden Adventure Playground Association is part of Meriden Park in Chelmsley Wood, Solihull.
For three Saturday's in March, the Playground are running morning Family Nature Sessions.
Family Forest School activities
Hands-on, child-led activities such as fire lighting, natural crafts, wildlife exploration, green woodworking tasters, and seasonal learning.
Guided Earth Walks
Short, accessible Earth Walks through nearby green space, encouraging families to slow down, observe, and connect with the natural environment using sensory and reflective techniques.
Planting and habitat action
Families will actively take part in planting pollinator-friendly plants, herbs, bulbs, and sensory vegetation, improving biodiversity and enhancing the site’s natural environment.
In addition, the programme will include:
Embedded training for staff and volunteers, strengthening skills in growing, habitat enhancement, and facilitated nature connection.
One dedicated Professionals / Adults Nature Session, offering an introduction to Forest School practice, Earth Walk techniques, and practical planting for those working with children, families, or communities.
