Open House CIC

The Community Environment Network aims to connect community groups working on environment action, boost their efforts, and also inspire and support new groups.

Open House CIC provide youth clubs, NEET provision, allotment sessions, therapy and sports activities for young people to socialise, make friends and develop valuable life skills.

As part of the Nature Call to Action Campaign, they are improving their allotment space in Kings Norton, Birmingham.

Young people will be taking part in hands on activities such as growing food and planting trees and wildlife friendly plants.

How the allotment transforms will be decided by the young people, to give them ownership of the garden.

Funded activities across March will include:

  • Seed prep/planting and filling raised beds
  • Planting fruit bushes/trees and restoring bug hotels
  • Installing hanging baskets and sowing wild flowers
