Regional Training Programme 2026-27
The WMCA Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Programme 2026-29 seeks to add value and complementary outcomes to the work of our Local Authority and wider partners.
To build upon the good work established in recent years, we will be continuing to deliver a regional training programme in 2026-27 and are pleased to share those details here.
This exciting training offer has been developed for staff, volunteers and trustees working across three key service areas:
- Preventing homelessness and rough sleeping
- Supporting people on the streets and in temporary accommodation
- Move on and recovery services
A wide range of training courses will be taking place in 2026-27 starting in April – details can be found below. The training courses are open to anyone working or volunteering within the WMCA area.
When booking a training course, ensure you have your line manager's approval and mark the course time as protected in your calendar. Additionally, check that no more than two colleagues from your organisation are already attending, as we allow up to three participants from one organisation per course.
We maintain substantial waiting lists for each course, and non-attendance or last-minute cancellations are both inconvenient and costly, as they prevent others from utilising the available space. If you need to cancel your training place, please email us at homelessness@wmca.org.uk at least two working days before the training date to allow us time to fill the vacant space.
For those who do not provide enough notice, a valid reason for non-attendance or simply do not attend, this will affect your ability to attend further training courses that you may be signed up to and any future courses you may want to attend.
