Sector: Social care

Size of Organisation: 50 employees

Thrive Lead: Helen Elmore

What they do:

Servol Community Services is a UK-registered charity, founded in 1979, offering high quality, person-centred accommodation and support for people experiencing mental ill health across the West Midlands and London. They operate 24/7 supported living, residential homes, crisis respite units, and stepdown services, all regulated by the CQC

Collaborating with NHS, local authorities, housing partners, and clinical professionals, Servol designs tailored recovery plans, enabling individuals to develop life skills, rebuild independence, and transition successfully into the community.

How Thrive at Work has impacted the organisation:

The organisation took a structured approach to workplace wellbeing through the Thrive at Work programme. They introduced mental health training for all staff, launched wellbeing campaigns like Couch to 5K and team cooking events, and improved access to resources via SharePoint. Staff recognition was boosted through Value Awards, and conversations about wellbeing became part of regular check-ins and supervision.

This led to a more open and supportive culture, stronger team morale, improved awareness of support services, and increased staff confidence in speaking up. The programme helped shift wellbeing from an informal priority to an embedded part of how the organisation works.
