About the survey
The Household Survey is a survey commissioned by the WMCA that aims to understand residents’ views on key topics such as digital connectivity, social life, social inclusion and participation, and social infrastructure and accessibility.
The survey reveals that most residents are digitally confident, with those who are not being more likely to be older, live alone, and have lower incomes. Additionally, the survey finds that almost two-thirds of residents feel positive about their social life, with positivity linked to spending more time on social activities and having supportive relationships. However, barriers to community participation include a lack of time, with over half of the residents wanting stronger community ties and more opportunities for social inclusion.
The findings from the survey will help the WMCA make more informed, inclusive, and effective decisions to ensure its policies are equitable and responsive to the needs of the community.
