Job Rotation
Boost productivity, improve staff retention and close your skills gaps with industry specific training that works around your workforce with with full end‑to‑end support given throughout the Job Rotation programme.
WMCA are looking for employers to test their Job Rotation programme at higher skills levels across a range of sectors including Advanced Manufacturing, EV and battery development, green industries, health and med tech, digital, and cross-sector capabilities.
The programme is designed to help you upskill and develop your existing workforce, enabling valued team members to progress while their roles are temporarily backfilled with suitable cover. This ensures business continuity with no loss of productivity, while also creating meaningful opportunities for job seekers.
The Job Rotation programme enables you to upskill a current employee while a job seeker steps into their role. It’s a dual-benefit initiative – you develop your workforce with no operational downtime, while providing a valuable work experience opportunity for someone looking to enter employment.
How it works
- You identify employees who can benefit from training.
- A jobseeker is then hired to fill in while these employees train.
- The substitutes get paid a Living Wage, with unemployment benefits topped up, at no cost to the business. These substitutes work for a set time before the trained employees return.
- The trained employees return back to work with better skills and productivity.
- Meanwhile, the jobseeker gains experience, making it easier for them to find regular work.
