Key Policies
Inclusive Growth is fundamental to growing the Social Economy.
Inclusive Growth is "A more deliberate and socially purposeful model of growth, measured not only by how fast or aggressive it is; but also, by how well it is created and shared across the whole population and place, and by the social and environmental outcomes it realises for our people".
WMCA has created an Inclusive Growth Framework and tool to help shape its policies and decision-making.
Other policies and drivers are:
- Community Wealth Building
- Town Centre and High Street Recovery
- Commitment to work with the VCSE – for example, the Social Economy Task Force
- Community Asset Transfer
- NHS Confederation - Exploring and understanding the VCSE sector in provider collaboratives
Partnerships
WMCA is committed to working in partnership to grow the Social Economy. Power to Change is a key partner in enabling this work. We also work in partnership with individual Local Authorities, Barrow Cadbury Trust, Big Issue Invest, BSSEC, Universities, DCMS, Corporate Partnerships, through our Social Impact Partners, and many others.
Structure for collaboration
We are committed to ensuring that the Social Economy Growth programme continues to be designed by the sector, for the sector and delivered by the sector with WMCA acting as an enabling body.
